I was born and raised in Irving, attending Brandenburg Elementary, Travis Jr. High, and MacArthur High School. I was a proud four-year football letterman at Pomona College, where I earned my degree before obtaining my MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
My wife, Sharon, and I settled in Irving 25 years ago. Our son Andrew is a senior at Arizona State University and our daughter Cate, who graduated from MacArthur High School last year, is a freshman at Auburn University; they are our pride and joy. My family is deeply rooted in Irving, and I am dedicated to ensuring our city thrives for future generations.
My leadership and service includes:
Past Chairman of Irving Chamber of Commerce, advocating for businesses and job growth that help keep our residents’ taxes lower.
Board Member Emeritus of the Irving Schools Foundation, founded by my mother, Anne Pfaff, in 1985 to support local educators and students.
Co-founder of the Irving Kids Charity Golf Tournament, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local nonprofits, including Irving Cares, the Irving Schools Foundation, Baylor, Scott & White, Irving Foundation and La Buena Vida Foundation.
Manager of the Dragons and Sweet Daisies Soccer Teams, coaching and managing my son Andrew’s and daughter Cate’s teams in the Irving Soccer Association, helping young athletes develop teamwork and skills.
Member of the 2019 Irving Citizens Bond Task Force
Former Board Chairman of the La Buena Vida Foundation, empowering, inspiring, and educating at-risk and homeless youth to be tomorrow’s business and community leaders.
Hosted the Irving Friends of Boy Scouts luncheon to raise awareness and funds for local scouting programs.
Annual donor to the Irving Arts Community, supporting Main Stage and other local cultural groups.
Longtime supporter of Irving Cares, ensuring families in need have access to essential services.
Longtime supporter of Baylor, Scott & White, Irving Foundation, promoting the health and well-being of all individuals and families in Irving and surrounding communities.
My Irving
Growing up, I lived in what is now central Irving. I watched drive-in movies on Saturday nights, and on Sundays, we went to football games at that stadium with the hole in the roof. I played soccer and baseball in the River Bottoms, football at Irving School Stadium, dined at establishments on Pioneer and hung out at Crystal’s Pizza. I’d go to Irving Mall with my friends, and if my sister was working, head to the Food Court for some Häagen-Dazs® ice cream.
I didn’t see directional boundary lines growing up, and I won’t as your at-large City Council representative. I give my solemn oath to represent ALL districts with the same level of commitment and enthusiasm.
